Incident and trauma support

Incident and trauma support coaching sessions are for individuals and can be offered within workplaces or privately.

These sessions utilise neuroscience based techniques including an evidence based method to support reconsolidation of traumatic memories. We would be glad to have the opportunity to discuss how we can best support you, or your workers, at a time of distress.

Our experience:

We have provided support in situations involving death at a workplace, and aggressive or violent behaviour toward workers. Other areas of experience include return to work after large scale events and natural disasters.

We have a thorough working understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015). With this knowledge we can ensure our service is provided in a way that supports, and does not interfere with, any other incident response or workplace investigation processes.

Booking options

The Incident and Trauma Support booking form provides an option to select an online face to face session, an in-person session at your workplace, or a session at a neutral venue.

Urgency is usually a factor in requiring this type of one-off session response. Online sessions are as effective as in-person sessions and an online meeting may be the best way to facilitate an urgent response.

Booking availability

  • Select the 'Book Sessions' button below or click here to go directly to the booking form.

  • From the booking form you can select the 'Next availability' button or use the arrows to scroll across the calendar.

  • Go ahead and book, where available. You're welcome to phone us to follow up the booking.

  • If the availability you require is not visible in the booking form, please phone us. We'll do our best to provide this service with urgency.

Preparing for a session

  • Both in-person, and online sessions, will require you to attend from a private, uninterrupted space like a meeting room. It is possible to attend an online session from your home work space, provided that is private and you will not be interrupted by others in the home. It is fine to have pets present.

  • Online sessions require use of a laptop, or large tablet, with a front facing camera so that we can see each other. Your device will also need a microphone and a speaker (or headphones) so that we can hear each other. You'll need a reliable internet connection.

  • Please allow a minimum of 90 minutes per session, maximum 120 minutes.

Multiple session bookings

A minimum buffer of one hour is required between each session. A maximum of 3 individual sessions per work day is available. In some circumstances we can provide additional capacity to help with larger numbers of clients. Please phone us to discuss.

Neutral venue

At your request we may be able to arrange a neutral venue to meet your attendee. This has proven useful, for example, in circumstances where a worker has witnessed the death of a colleague at work. Please contact us to discuss external venues as this will incur a venue rental charge in addition to the session fee.

Please note the following terms and conditions:

The terms and conditions for booking this service include:
1. The service offered is in no way intended to replace the support of a Registered General, or Occupational Health, Physician, Clinical Psychologist, or other mental health professional. We are happy to work in consultation with health professionals as required.

2.  Disbursements will be charged for attendance at your workplace, or an external venue (mileage), travel further than 100km from BaDW office (travel and accommodation expenses), plus other disbursements as they are reasonably incurred, including a venue charge when BaDW provides a venue to meet your attendee.

3. All details of the session will remain private and confidential to the Being and Doing Well Limited Consultant and the session attendee. The session attendee may request access to their information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
